“To Hell You Ride” (Better Known As Telluride)

by Marsha October. 25, 2019 415 views

Telluride, Colorado is a gold and silver mining turned ski town nestled in the shadow of several 14ers (mountains higher than 14,000 ft elevation). Many think its name came from what people said to miners back in the 1800’s who were on their way to this rugged, remote area, “To Hell you ride!” Most likely the name came from tellurium, a semi-metallic element associated with several minerals including gold and silver. Either way Telluride is a beautiful and unique place with unspoiled mountainous beauty all around. #1 - Telluride’s Main Street, #2 - reflections of pond in city park, #3 - cowboy view just outside of town, #4 - one of the gorgeous views from Telluride’s Last Dollar Road.
