A rather thorny topic

The Mojave Desert in Southern California is definitely one of my favorite places. Despite the brain-melting heat, there just isn't much out there, and nothing I like more than solitude.

Joshua Tree National Park is in the desert. You can see one in the third picture. They produce a love white flower that looks a bit like a large bunch of grapes, of sorts. (Use your imagination.) The green buds in this picture obviously happened opened, yet.

I have a very ambivalent relationship to such plants, because my daughter had a phase where she used to have them in her room( ok the smaller variety, I admit). Every time I passed them they used to shoot their little thorns at me, I swear!!
Wonderful set:))

Joshua Tree is a great place... last time we were there the Cholla were blooming... pretty shot with the light shining through them!

I found out...Apparently from the resemblance of the tree to Joshua holding out his spear (Joshua 8:18)
