Around Bassett

Weather was too nice so went out to Jubilee lake and Bassett canal.

Lake was full of ducks as ever as well as 4 geese. Canal had yet more ducks and a swan family. While down the canal, I turned out to be lunch for something.

That's my right elbow. I had quite a fiddle holding a camera with my left hand for the shot, luckily I had the E-P1 out as I'm not sure I could do it with a DSLR (esp not when 400mm is on it!).

I felt something on my arm, and looking there I saw this bug. I blew hard on it, which is what I normally do to shift bugs that land on me. It didn't work. I blew harder, and this time I felt it “tugging” on me. So of course, I shot it. While setting up for another shot it decided it had enough and disappeared. The anti-coagulation stuff worked as a big spot of blood came out then.

Just hope it wasn't carrying anything nasty.
