The soundhole on my grandfather's rather dusty mandolin. The double strings are GDBE. It has an E string missing and some of the mother of pearl inlay in the tortoiseshell. The fretboard is mother of pearl . It has been bashed about in my travels over the years. including being run over by a railway porter's trolley when I was a student and having to be stuck together again so it is unplayable now. When I acquired it I restrung it, taught myself some chords and simple songs from a book. It now rests on a shelf in my hallway. I'm a big fan of David Bowie, have many of his albums and CDs and have seen him live about 6 times. My beloved DAB Roberts radio which is rechargeable and I listen to every day- mostly Radio 4. I tried to give it an antique effect as the original radios are considered vintage now. A fish shaped flute of mine which has been around the house for years. My front door bell which plays the chimes of Big Ben when you press it! I tried to make it look less ordinary.
