Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station

Kemmangundi is a hill station in Chikkamagaluru district in the state of Karnataka in South India.

This was the summer retreat of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and as a mark of respect to the king, it is also known as Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station.

Mesmerised by the scenic and pleasant mountains ranges of the Baba Budan Hills (http://www.photoblog.com/ManjunathRaj/2008/05/28/ [photoblog.com]), Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV was inspired to build his summer resort at Kemmangundi.

The Horticultural Department of the Karnataka state now maintains and develops its surroundings.
