Behind my garden

My temporary home from the back field

The back field

This field backs onto the birdpark.

I walked over to be greeted by an emu.

She was a friendly cove.

We chatted for awhile.

And she gave me her best side! :-)

Well that is nice . I always wonder how you can tell the difference from an emu to an ostrich. Do you know ? LOL sounds like a joke but it's not a joke.
Have you ever tried ostrich meat or eggs? It is very low in cholesterol and quite tasty.

Not the usual type of bird you expect to find in the French countryside, but she is very pretty and you are lucky to be able to chat with her!
