Waiting for spring!

The Lesser Flamingoes - just a shadow of their big sisters!

Just for the camera!

The very last!

Nice work! Love the shimmering reflections & soft pink colors.......
I hope they get to go to Florida for the winter.....like so many of our northern neighbors, here in the US.....(((grin)))

No, they will remain in the bird park where they are well taken care of. Mxx

I'm sure they are well cared for.....just kidding.....
I used to feel sorry for the Polar Bears in the Zoo back in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas, where the Summers are brutal, but they spent most of the time inside their air conditioned den or in their refrigerated swimming pool.....

I always feel sorry for animals in zoos - however I enjoy the massive walk-in aviaries of the bird park. The flamingoes and pelicans are not caged, but their wings are clipped. One year they didn't clip them enough and several flew as far as Geneva ( a 2 hour car ride) . :-) Mxx

On the bright side, most of the animals in zoos, these days ,are several generations of being in captivity, so they really don't know any other way of life.....Cheers!
