WATTLED LAPWING AND CHICKS

I spent some time in the bird park yesterday. Whilst photographing new small chicks in a large walk - in aviary I was attacked by the male or female parent. I was totally immersed in what I was doing so jumped out of my skin when this bird attacked the back of my head. I had NOT left the path provided, but I probably spent more time than most trying to obtain the perfect shot! The bird ( a lapwing of some sort I think) who attacked me on the path behind me - and the chicks ...

Excellent series! Nice to know the chicks' parents aren't afraid to protect their young! Chicks are adorable! Nice camera work!
