Dragonfly Runway

Look at how sweet and docile this alligator is. Even the smallest of insects can use him as a perch and runway.

Ok... I listened to your advice. Unfortunately, I learned that “National Geographic does not accept unsolicited photos.” This was from their website. However, they do have something called “Your Shot”, which is a photography community where you can submit photos to photo assignments, stories, and they also choose certain photos to be recognized. Anyway, I created an account and will submit it there. 😉

Thank you... for the most part, they are cooperative “subjects”. They aren’t very afraid and are rather curious... kind of like cats but with much bigger teeth. 😉

Great shot, Shane. I'm very envious.  I sure hope that you we're in a boat, on shore or using a long lens when you took this shot of the dragonflies!

Oh yea... I was on shore and using a 400mm.

Thank you.

WOW, you got an alligator for free as an addition to this nice dragonflies! I always get only rotting grapes for free, if I photograph a fly ...
BEAUTIFUL - the reflections (eye, water), a clear picture and the combination itself is priceless - GREAT!

Thank you very much.

If only my mother could have seen... I was almost prostrated near the edge of alligator infested water. 😂😂😂 And they were hungry.
