The White Pelicans have been here in large numbers. I recently went to some nearby jetties along the coast to photography these beautiful birds. They did not disappoin.

#1 Beautiful depth and light. Wow. I'm new here so just seeing your photos. Where do you live that you have so much wildlife to photograph?

Thank you. I live in Louisiana. Fortunately, we have many state and federal wildlife refuges here.

#2 I love the lighting on this image and the other 2 are quite beautiful also. How are you liking the 7D?

Thank you, Russell.

About the 7D II... I’ve only had it out one time, so it’s hard to make a good judgment but I think I’m really going to like it. There are things that really impressed me and a few things, not so much. But I really think I need to get acclimated to the camera to know if the issues are caused by the camera or me.

This means so much and I really appreciate your kind words. Nature / wildlife is an awe inspiring thing. It makes me really excited to think that I have captured those moments and that others can see the beauty of wildlife as well.

Such magnificent birds. They almost seem to defy the laws of physics by being able to fly with that huge beak!

I couldn’t agree more. What is also amazing is how they can hover for long distances just inches from the water’s surface. It just seems like they shouldn’t be able to do what they do.

Thanks, Camellia. It is one of my favorites too. I’m tempted to print it... I’m curious to see how it would look.
