Recently I went to a place called Peveto Woods. It is land owned by the Baton Rouge Audubon Society and serves as a bird sanctuary for birds returning from their migration. Although I did get photos of different bird species, it was the Marsh Rabbits that caught my attention and occupied most of my time. I have many photos I hope to share but I haven’t edited them yet. I at least wanted to post one because I just couldn’t wait. I really had a great time watching these little guys.
Right before sunset, they were everywhere and were eating like crazy. At one point while I was laying on the ground, I had one come right up to me, stare for a while, and eventually hopped off slowly. He was so close, he actually had to hop over one of my tripod legs. What a great experience!
