When you live inland, one of the things that really does lift the soul and inspire you is a visit to the coast - no matter what country you live in, being near the sea does seem to raise your spirits.
It's no different in the UK and whilst some of our coastal towns have become tired and sad, lots still hold that charm and affection.
Llandudno on the north coast of Wales is one such place.
The geography and landscape of the place help, but also the history and preservation that has gone on all seem to have retained that spirit from years gone by.
These next images capture the feel from a recent trip there.

The Beach and the Pier
The beach does have its nice sandy area, but the majority of it is pebbles and stones, but they create a lovely frame to highlight the Pier and surrounding buildings.

Amazing Architecture
Buildings like this are just incredible, they are so full of character and skill and you have to ask, why don't we build them like this anymore?

View from the Pier
Whilst not always blessed with tropical sunshine, the coast has a rugged quality with the dark skies and the mountains in the background. The houses and hotels that line the promenade are another welcome addition to the town.
Llandudno remains one of my favourite places to visit.
#2WoW, indeed, amazing architecture. Thanks for sharing!
