Orrest Head, Windermere, Lake District

The towns of Windermere and Bowness are the most visited places in the Lake District National Park and whilst the shores of the lake are the biggest attraction, there is a short walk you can take up to Orrest Head which gives some spectacular views.

The walk starts just off the main road past the railway station and climbs up through the trees before finally breaking out to provide some stunning views of the fells and hills in the distance.

And of course, you get a really good view of Windermere itself, the largest expanse of water in England.

It is such a fantastic part of the world to visit and I would encourage anyone to do just that - you will love it!
