Dartmoor Walk

Taking advantage of the glorious summer weather at the weekend we took a trip to Dartmoor which is around 20 minutes from where we live. Dartmoor is so huge in area you are spoilt for choices with places to go. We eventually decided to head for an area surrounding Burrator Reservoir , starting at a place called Lowery Cross and then we followed the trail close to the Devonport Leat .

Devonport Leat is a leat in Devon constructed in the 1790s to carry fresh drinking water from the high ground of Dartmoor to the expanding dockyards at Plymouth Dock (which was renamed as Devonport, the scenery as you walk the route along the leat is outstanding especially at this time of the year. I hope you enjoy some of the photos I took along the way.
