The Dovecot Blackwood Estate, South Lanarkshire, Scotland
These picture where taken while out walking through the Blackwood Estate. The first house you come to is The Dovecot, an old house dating back to 1615.The building was intended to house pigeons or doves. This one is built onto the side of a house, with pigeon holes for birds to nest.
Pigeons and doves were an important food source and were kept for their eggs.

I have dreams of living in a place like this. I am sure it will never happen but I really like looking at these and imagining.

This was a funny little building. I like the way they used the stones in buildings. You see those amazing buildings allover Scotland and England.Wales and Ireland too. Its a great craftsmanship. You caught it from all angles and you did it great :)

What a funny little building, looks like it has been chopped in half and the back half is missing! Interesting history...

Interesting building Matt. Looks like it is in need of a bit of pointing on the front!
I like the composition of the first one the most.
Doesn't it look strange in the last one? As if the back of the building has been sliced off. You show this very well.
