prey, stay, run away

they are fast. they are furious. they are fearsome. they are hiding in the dark, even though they glow red when a hunter learns how to spot them with bluesalt.

we wait for them for hours, squatting motionless at the water hole, listening for the subtle noises of their arrival. when me'wal points out the first of the siringh peering over the hills ad then slowly approaching, my heart pounds in feverish lust and terror. she puts her soothing hand on my arm and presses her hand on my mouth. salty skin. i get an erection.

nothing counts other than patience on the hunt. nothing but silence and waiting and pretending to be a part of nature, which we are… we are. and yet, when the spear bursts, the arrows sizzle through the night and the siringh falls, ending its live in a mourning gurgle, i feel as if the world around me is filled with sparkles and noise and sad, but thrilling songs.

as much as i oppose hunting as a sport, i did read your text with fascination... are these red pictures edited or did your hunting trip include "night vision" goggles?
