tunnel in, tunnel out

since the settlement of gry'ondar is clutched on top of steep cliffs looking down over the swamps below, you cannot leave the megabolo to the south without passing through the tunnels. they call tem “ta'kan ta'kai”, which comes from the language of those first dwellers that took shelter in here from the darkening dust storms of the big bang years. they have been expelled long time ago, yet their name of the place has remained. someone translated it for me in the taverns as “tunnel in, tunnel out” - but i do not know how relieable this is, since we were drunken a lot at that time.

it is an eerie feeling to step into the dark, following the old lines of steel once berolled by heavy machines, the flickering lights of a guide's to be followed deeper and deeper into the wet dripping galleries. the sound of our steps crunching stones and dust, mumbled conversation and the heavy breath of the packbeast, and slowly we hake our way down the slopes. the winding path seems endless, as if all day has be swallowed by night.

and suddenly light of different nature comes dimming along in the far, growing to a shimmering hole. we turn around the last corner - and stand in front of the gaping arch of the tin'derland mouth; a view that produces gasping growns of hope and deep inhaling of the air that is still wet but carries a fresh scent. paying the guide and passing the guards is like the seal under our deal with gry'ondar, what now lies ahead, is our business alone.

Let's see what this voyage will bring. Liked the connection between the 1st and last picture.
