hydraulic despotism

ORCA (Otonabee Regional Conservation Authority) has followed through on a threat it made after a delegation from the Save the Dam Mill Pond Committee attended the most recent ORCA meeting to discuss how the lack of maintenance on the dam property has allowed for the formation of a new sinkhole. This is a political move on the part of ORCA and is just another way of stalling the required repairs that the Millbrook Dam required immediately. A fence does not protect the residents or properties directly downstream from the dam from an imminent failure due to a lack of maintenance by ORCA.
What we need you, the people to do is to contact ORCA to express your outrage over their handling of the situation.
Please direct your outrage towards Denyse Sanderson, the current ORCA CAO at the contact info below:
(705) 745-5791 x201 or by email at [email protected]
While not responsible for the current actions by ORCA, we also encourage you to contact our Mayor and Deputy Mayor John Fallis and Scott McFadden to express how important the Dam and Pond are to Millbrook and how we can't stand by after ORCAs latest actions.

Scott McFadden: [email protected]
