Christmas Eve dinner begins...

This year I spend Christmas Eve with my husband, but traditionally one tableware extra is waiting for an unexpected guest :)

the doorbell rings ... We have an unexpected guest!

Welcome to our home SERMOans :)

Enjoy with us traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner.  At the beginning we wish all the best and we break the wafer ( opłatek). All the best to SERMO Team and all members!

It's cold outside, you come from afar, let's start our dinner... hot red barszcz with dumplings.

I see that it was tasty dish!

We go to the famous Polish pierogi / dumplings

It's time for a toast: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It is our special wine, we drink them only on the Christmas  Eve dinner.

Liebfraumilch ( = Beloved lady's milk) is a style of semi - sweet white German wine which is produced, mostly for export, in the regions Rheinhessen, Palatinate, Rheingau and Nahe.

Gotujemy kompot z suszonych owoców /we cook dried fruit compote

Dried apples, pears, plums, black berries

Poppy seed cake - recipe

And now it's time for gifts: the most pleasant gift this year was finding at FB pages and Sermo blog my text / post about SERMOnosis.

Info for visitors: this mysterious internist from Poland, mentioned in the blog introduction, that's me :)

Thanks SERMO!

I love the symbolism of the unexpected guest and all of Wigilia. Looks delicious!
My favorite Polish Christmas carol is Lulajze Jezuniu. Beautiful.
