In February 2017 I participated in a seminar on European Reference Networks in Leuven. I listened very interesting lectures, among which one of the most interesting was the presentation of Prof.G. Jondeau.
He presented one of the 24 ERN thematic sections devoted to rare vascular diseases.
Less than half a year later on the Polish forum for doctors appeared a story about a baby born in a Polish family in London. The topic was written by one of the participants of the forum, let's call this lady Dr. Mary, who is a cousin of a sick child.
The baby was born with swelling of one leg, probably lymphatic. Dr. Mary asked members of this forum for advice and guidance on how to proceed.
Today Dr. Mary reported that the baby just was referred to the Saint George Hospital :). The dream of quick diagnosis of new patients by ERN networks is starting to materialize :)
