During the Autumn this past year my family and I could be found nearly ever opportunity in the lovely Colorado outdoors. Autumn is my favorite season and always has been - even before I was involved in photography. It's so gorgeous, so vibrant but so short lived. This day is one of my favorite family trips. I'm still slowly putting together our family book for the year for print. Not enough room though and hard to pick out the best ones. I wanted to document a few of my favorite ones through my new favorite blog space though :)
One of our many trips through Independence Pass, Aspen and Twin Lakes area.
Wet roads are the best. The glistening reflections and the fragrance of wet asphalt. Doesn't get much better unless your holding a hot espresso which I was so this is pretty much perfection in my memory book.
And fog.... if I were a cat you'd hear me purring.
This small forested area is pure magic. A forest of golden orange aspens.
I'm obsessed with leaves... and light. And trees. Also mountains. fog. and coffee.
(wow, a lot of obsessions as I write all that down lol)
We ended the day on an absolute perfect note in Twin Lakes just as the sun was setting. You can see the sun rays through the heavy clouds and also the vibrant aspen coverage over the mountains.
Thanks for coming for the ride with me down memory lane. Although this was only in the end of September it feels like a full forever ago. I'd keep Autumn in a. time capsule if I could. Although I have often said that if it weren't for the other seasons of green and bareness we would never appreciate the season of gold.
Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did :)
