One of my favorite times of year is when we have fireworks on the lake. People come over to enjoy them, there are festive parties all day, and they are amazing to watch and shoot. This year I was prepared with my tripod and super excited. I got some amazing shots but I realized I didn't really pay attention to my composition. All my shots are in the sky with nothing around. I love them, they are so beautiful but some of them caught the edge of a tree and I realized next year I really want to scope out the yard and really pay attention to the composition.

This is such a popular event every year that there are tons of boats on the lake. They are scattered every where and my dock is full of people. I want to capture all of this. I'm kind of bummed I didn't pay more attention and now I need to wait an entire year to try again but at least I am learning!

Your fireworks are crystal clear and beautiful. I know what you mean about composition and additions in the photos. I see boat lights in #4!

I love how they turned out but once I saw some of the pictures with the trees and stuff I wish I had thought of the composition aspect a little more.

I know. One of my goals is to work on composition. I guess practice was the tripod is in order in my case.

I would consider it a success you have some lovely images of fireworks (that can be the hard part) plus you see things you can do to improve them for the next time.  #6 I like how the tree is starting to frame the fireworks .

Thanks Russell! I do love the shots I took and I am glad to have accomplshed that!  Numer 1 & 6 made me think of paying more attention to composition which is something I definitely can struggle with. It is what I love about photography always something to learn, try and work on!
