Basilica de la Sagradia Familia- 137 years on, the construction of this amazing basilica is still very much a work in progress. I was told the Basilica would be completed by 2026. This imposing architectural landmark was the first stop in our Barcelona itinerary

A visit to Barcelona is not complete without indulging in an authentic Spanish cuisine "Tapas style". One of the many MUST DOs in this colorful city. We ended up at Calpep- a Meditarranean restaurant recommended by a friend."Scrumptious" food and great ambiance !

Enjoying Flamenco dance with a nice glass of wine, after dinner, made the evening all the more memorable

Stroll under the Orangey Canopies- Down town Barcelona

An hour long Bus ride from Barcelona and then a funicular, we were all the way up at the Benedictine Monastery perched high at 4000 FT in Montserrat mountain

Chillies Galore! One of the most exciting things we did in Barcelona was to take a Paella cooking class. And that meant shopping for all the ingredients at the nearby Boquiera market. From fresh vegetables to Dairy to Meat cuts to fish.. there is nothing one cannot find in this colorful market

Time to pick up a nice Rioja...

Atop Montserrat- the imposing cross in the midst of mortals!
