Modena, Italy (Part II)

Hot on the heels of part I, I bring you more photos!
This time I want to focus on architecture, however I will begin with the promised photo of the Monumento a Ciro Menotti...

Piazza Roma

Piazza Roma

The next two posts are examples of the beautiful walkways alongside the roads and piazza's in Modena. The ceiling is really shown off in the first one as I managed to get a shot with the light flooding in. This first walkway is actually those arches to the right-hand side of the piazza above.

This second shot is of a similarly designed walkway along the roadside in another part of the town.

An elderly man (at least, I think it was an elderly man) rides his bike through the walkway

This is me trying to be abstract again, and probably failing. The entrance to the Ghirlandina belltower is located in a small square area that is walled in. Opposite the front door is this lamppost and beyond that arch is a large piazza. I really liked the look of the lamppost against the archway so I tried for something a little weird... I'm not sure if it works personally, but there's something about it I like.

The final set of photos will be up next week... until then, bye.
