The "Cannonball" tree

The Cannonball tree is is native to the tropical forests of northeastern South America.But I came across this one on a recent visit to Kingston, Jamaica - what a beauty!

Yes, it is the "Couroupita Guianensis", rather common in the Caribbean... A very beautiful and original tree ;)
The first time I saw it was in Barbados.
