Wong Tai Sin Temple is a well known shrine and major tourist attraction in Hong Kong. It is dedicated to Wong Tai Sin, or the Great Immortal Wong.

The Main Altar. — at Wong Tai Sin Temple.

Most of the visitors come to the temple in search for a spiritual answer via a practice called kau cim. They light incense sticks, kneel before the main altar, make a wish, and shake a bamboo cylinder containing fortune sticks until a stick falls out. This stick is exchanged for a piece of paper bearing the same number, and then the soothsayer will interpret the fortune on the paper for the worshiper.

Yue Lao is the matchmaker god in charge of marriages.

The “red string of fate” tied by devotees. Yue Lao is a god of matchmaking who is said to connect people to their soul-mates by an invisible thread.

Yuk Yik Fountain
The fountain symbolizes for “Water” element and is distinguished by 7 lotuses.

Three Saints Hall
Next to the Main Altar, the Hall is for the worship of a famous goddess in Chinese society - Kwun Yam, a historic hero - General Kwan and a Taoist monk - Fairy Lui.
