Hercules was always my favourite amongst the antique heroes (as well as one of the funniest Disney movies). I used to love stories with many adventures, so Hercules and his 12 tasks were right up my alley.

This bronze statue of our hero found in a "grave" which meant the statue had been struck by lightning and the Romans had a custom to retire such struck statues and give them a burial. Apparently, being struck by lightning showed the disapproval of the gods.

It is now in the Vatican Museum in Rome.
