Standing tall in November Otter - Lutra lutra Beautiful Halloween stroll in Epping Forest where the weather was amazing. I saw two fallow bucks locking antlers at Dunsmead Hollow, a kingfisher at Strawberry Hill Pond with a tawny owl close by - but for me the highlight was seeing a grass snake basking this late in the year. You can find me on flickr - www.flickr.com/photos/merrychrismossor through my Facebook Page - Wildlife Photography by Christian Moss Fallow Deer (Dama dama) A kestrel on the cliffs of Godrevy, Cornwall. Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) Otters are amazing mammals Majestic fallow buck - something quite medieval about seeing these chaps in the forest. In Autumn hedgehogs begin to look for places to hibernate & unlit bonfires make an ideal refuge. Numbers are in decline so please look out for hiding hedgehogs before you light bonfires. Red deer rut of Richmond Park Forest fallow For bucks sake Roe Deer seen on the Surrey Hills Hedgehog - Erinaceus europaeus Sparrowhawk silhouette seen high over Epping Forest. I parked up at Crown Hill Upshire and whilst putting my boots on two fallow bucks just walked straight past me. If you're local to Epping Forest get yourself over to Copped Hall Park & the Warren Plantation to see the fallow deer rut - it's really great to watch and at this time of year virtually impossible not to bump into them.
