Toads return to the same pond to mate and spawn every year.

Toads lay spawn in long 'strings' rather than clumps. It is estimated that only 5% of their young one's survive.

Whilst watching one adder a second snake appeared. I was sitting when this chap came towards me from a pile of dead bracken. A wonderful experience.

Captured on Friday. No toad strings seen as yet. On Saturday it snowed but toads prefer deeper ponds to frogs so hopefully these guys will survive. Fingers crossed and I'll check on Monday.

#1 I am digging this shot. I am guessing this is a poisonous snake due to the cat eye would that be a correct guess?

#1 - I like not only the picture but also the the schedule - it's interesting, did you compare it to climate/weather?
