Nice was nice.

As it turned out, I arranged to leave early and it just so happened that my Aunty Lisa was going to be visiting Nice at the same time. Free place to sleep! Unfortunately, it was foggy and rainy for the couple of days we were there, but it did clear up towards the end.

Mostly, we walked around the streets, checked out some shops, had a few cocktails (Richard/anisse!) and hung out. Throughout the day, I inquired about live music. We ended up listening to a great acoustic set at an Irish pub before chilling with a jazz band later that night.

I was surprised by all the English speakers I met there and was even more surprised by all of the live music later on. I found it difficult to hop around and listen to live music (on the cheap) in France, but this city was a definite exception.

Most of the shops were 20x20ft or smaller.

Nice's center plaza by day.

…and by night.

Jazzing our faces off at the Shapko.

It's Aunt Lisa, happy as a lark. Two purses on her shoulder, and probably another new one in the bag.
