It Was Music to my Ears

If you can't tell…I had an amazing time. Four days of camping, one $10 shower, and non-stop music made for quite an exciting weekend.

From what I experienced and the reviews I've seen, the inaugural kickoff to The Rothbury Music Festival was a complete success. Attendance was anywhere between 40-50,000 people from across the country. I'd say 40% of those in attendance came from out of the state of Michigan. Just to name a few, I saw license plates from Nevada, California, Texas, Florida, South Dakota, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

My top three favorite shows were as follows: Dave Matthews (Duh!) Trey Anastasio, and Atmosphere. Every set was great though…you can't go wrong when you have perfect weather, your best friends and live music.

Now…the camping situation was extremely tolerable…I'd even say enjoyable. Thanks to the heartfelt efforts of my kitchen buddies Chris, Timmer, and Brandon. You boys really impressed me with your culinary skills. Thanks for keeping me well fed and under survelliance. Security detail was tight. To the boys, Emma, Kev, Patty and all of our other fellow campers, thanks for making our campsite the most entertaining, well-stocked (on everything) and enjoyable place you could be at Rothbury. You guys are the best and I heart you all very much.

Can't wait for next year,
The Package

I've posted all 200 photos at my Gallery. Visit http://mnrphotography.com [mnrphotography.com] for the complete experience. ;-)

The view from our campsite on top of Chris's car.

Chris…with a nice little sunbeam reaching across him.

The atmosphere was invigorating. If you weren't in a great mood when you got there, you had no choice but to be in one when you left.

Those chairs were MVP of the festival. A pain in the butt to carry in on your back…but oh so nice when we got there. This photo was taken at The Ranch Area on our first night at Rothbury.

Notice how incredibly blue the sky was for Day 3! This was two hours and counting before the Dave concert at The Odeum. The place was filling up!

Me, Emma and the youngest Rothbury attendee! Miss Emma is 16.5 weeks pregnant and was such a trooper the entire weekend. You're amazing EK!! Not sure who this photo credit goes to.

Just happy to be here!! I'm pretty sure that's grape soda and whiskey in my cup. Don't knock it till you try it. Brandon and I thought we discovered liquid gold with this concoction.

Chris and Brandon make friends.

Looks like an awesome time! I'm not so sure about the grape soda thing though - but if you say so I'll try it :-)
