Lovely series! I can see Victoria from my deck, on the other side of the Strait, in Port Angeles....

I can watch the ferry, from Port Angles to Victoria, all the way across the Strait, on a clear day!

It is pretty amazing! I'm on a bluff, about 100ft above the inner harbor looking north to Vancouver Island, 15 miles across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There is a thin strip of land called the Edit Hook, which separates the inner harbor and the Strait. It makes for a natural harbor for big ships to wait to go load or unload somewhere near, like Seattle or Bellingham or go overseas. The Coast Guard Base and the Pilot Station are also on the Ediz Hook, so there's always lots of activity to watch!
