Springtime in Red Canyon

by Jackie Meeker May. 24, 2007 2394 views

The beginning of Red Canyon lies 12 miles south of Lander. It is glorious in any season, but especially in the spring.

While taking these photos, Cory almost stepped on a rattlesnake (I've never seen her run so fast, and she didn't even call out a warning to me!), and we also came across a 5-foot long bull snake (harmless, but rather intimidating).

Photos are absolutely best enlarged.

When I look at this landscape my heart simply fills up??I love the red. It reminds me of some parts of southwest Utah.
I can't imagine coming face to face with a five foot snake.

Your photos are composed beautifully and allow the landscape to speak for itself.
