The Middle of Nowhere

Today on a whim, Ross, Laura and I decided to explore a little used BLM road just outside of Hudson. We traveled 10 or 12 miles in search of the elusive “hoodoos” that are rumored to be in the area, but unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in finding them. We did, however, see some amazing country, and of course did not see another soul the entire time.

The blue in the distance of the photo is not water, it's sagebrush (not sure why it appears blue)!

Cool! I love the zig zag ribbon effect!
It looks a tiny bit like ... El Paso?

Unusual landscape and intense colors. I didn't know that sage brush was blue. Good composition and framing.

Beautiful landscape. Nature painted the land amazingly and your shot shows it to us perfectly.

A great "american" landscape. I only say that because it looks a little like a flag. With the the red and white stripes and the patch of blue.

Any geologists out there want to share with us how these land features were formed? The striking bands of red and white are really interesting to me.

Amazing country and photo. Love the layers dotted by bushes. Would never have picked the sagebrush.
