Trying Portrait...

I took a walk with my wife, Erin, as seen in the picture below 😁 and our dog. I think it was late into autumn and I was keen to capture some of the colours this time of year brings. It's by far, one of the most beautiful seasons in Scotland.

I had been reading/watching tutorials on some portraiture techniques and after a long time snapping at leaves and trees; Erin made it obvious she was getting bored.

Fair enough; my attention needed redirected - but so was my lens!! 😜 Not quite what she had in mind...

I don't, as yet, have any reflectors or nifty flash gear - all I had was the well-hidden sun to get the shot.

There are a few things wrong with this shot; but as my first real attempt for a portrait picture, I felt I should add it to my collection.

A stepping stone in the journey.

I think it's a lovely portrait of your wife and a good beginning!

Thanks;  I've just recently been learning about effective lighting styles for portraits;  so I'm looking forward to trying them out.
