The Bay called Depoe!! Part I

Saturday we went to our favorite place on the coast, called Depoe Bay. For years and years the ocean has been carving its way through the tough basalt formations that form the sides of Depoe Bay, resulting in the smallest year-round navigable harbor in the world. Depending on tidal conditions can watch and sometimes be drenched by the famous spouting horns that shoot geysers of salt water into the air. When it is low tide there are 100's of tide pools you can go check out the sea life.

Watch for Part II of the shops of Depoe Bay!!

Since 1938, Tradewinds Charters in Depoe Bay has been providing “Top Deck” ocean charters for whale watching, sportfishing, bird watching, and Ecology Tours

When you come back with your catch, they will prepare it for you on the waterfront

Sometimes Harbor Seals come up and beg, and the chartermen will feed them leftovers

A lovely set of photos. I particularly like the fishermen preparing the catch.
