Fascinating “needles”

The Needles highway

On the road to Mt. Rushmore, awesome stone formations and mountains

narrow passage

This is in a curve, so neat!

Some of the old tunnels weren't wide enough for our truck so we avoided those roads.

Nice entrance

Louisiana!

The pile of stone that was chipped off to form the faces.

A close look shows repairs and need for repairs.

A little chipped but still dignified

Val takes a dip in the lake.

Beautiful lake nearby

We couldn't resist stepping across this creek

Pronghorns getting some sun.

Amazing formations

looks like 3 elephants on top

Lot of chipmonks in this area, looking for handouts.
