To Loei

Because we will probably need to stay around here after the house construction gets started we decided to make another short trip, this time into Loei Province. As a sort of afterthought we began to feel that it was a mini-honeymoon for us. As usual in Thailand the scenery was endlessly interesting and beautiful. I took a lot of photographs but couldn't begin to capture even a small part of what we saw.

From the flat countryside….

We went on to an area of wonderfully shaped limestone hills…..

Like this natural arch.

Here is a little waterfall in the forest. Over time the water has deposited limestone like stalagmites on the rock.

At the top of the little falls.

A small cave which may have been used by monks for meditation.

I tried to take a flash picture of the cave interior but it doesn't show the flat floor. It was really a comfortable dry cave.

Nearby, this cave/arch through the hill contains Buddhist images.

The area is a small park but there was nobody here when I wandered in.
