Theatre curtain of Teatro Regio di Parma

The theatre curtain is the work of Borghesi and is one of the very few to have survived to the modern day; it depicts an allegory of wisdom with Minerva enthroned surrounded by Gods, nymphs, poets and muses. Minerva is a portrait of Maria Luigia herself.

Giovan Battista Borghesi, aka Giovanni Battista Borghesi aja Giambattista Borghesi ( November 25, 1790 in Parma, December 11, 1846 in Parma ), is an italian painter.

je suis impressionnée par ce rideau ayant survécu. Il est en parfait état et doit être l'objet de soins attentifs.
