I would call him GODZILLA, but I guess that's already taken...

Green Iguanas are everywhere in south Florida. They are not a native species, but have taken well to the environment. You can almost here them singing!! [youtube.com]

He's looking at me…

6' long Iguana…

He was so big, that from a distance, some people thought he was an alligator…

I approached him very slowly so as not to frighten him…

Such a beautiful creature…

Mmmm, I'm getting hungry…

Hey you with the camera…

Come closer please…

That's it…you're almost in striking distance….er, uh I mean…

I'm omnivorous, which means I like plants and photographers, er, uh I mean meat….

Just call me Iggy….

Watch out for my tail…

So much detail….

Iggy is one big Iguana! He's got great colours really different from the green ones. Fantastic shots Oscar!

Wow, Oscar, what a close encounter! :)) This is a great specimen and much friendlier than Godzilla!

We see iguanas all over Mexico, but I've never noticed that huge bulgey-looking knot on their necks before! Wow - it almost appears other-worldly or prehistoric! These are fantastic shots of a fabulous creature! Nice job - TFS!

Although it's quite ugly to me it looks like God had fun when he designed this creature. Very nice shots and captions.
