I haven’t seen siskins every year, so it’s a treat to see one of these birds in a photographable location. A couple of years ago the UK weather was cold enough to push siskins south. On this particular day at Lackford Lakes, Bernard’s Hide was crammed with photographers trying to photograph the kingfishers mating. I didn’t try and get in the hide, but took some lovely pictures of siskins and redpolls.
