Day 14: Beijing Olympic Games

Today, my student gave these to me.

Then, I went to the Athletics events at the National Stadium. [photoblog.com]
At the exit of Line 10 subway, I saw this sign.

But right next to the sign, are the scalpers who are so vulgar in negotiating unreasonable prices with foreigners.

And not far from where these things happening, two policemen stood by. :)

See those tickets they are holding? They're realllly expensive. A RMB400 ticket price will cost you between RMB2000-4000.

Subway transfer to Line 8, the Olympic Green Park.

The spectators inside the National Stadium.

I was on the third tier.

The cameramen at the green part of the oval.

Women's 4 x 100m Relay Finals

Introduction of the Men Pole Vaulting Event.

The spectators on my right side.

A closer look.

A lot are standing instead of just comfortably sitting. The crowd went gaga.

Men 4 x 100 m Relay Finals.

The crowd eager to know.

The Jamaicans won for the Gold Medal.

Silver: Trinidad and Tobaggo.

Who's hot?

Bronze: Japan

I dunno why the Chinese went around.

Men Pole Vaulting.
Gold Medal: Australia

He did a good job.

And so the cameramen are all around him after he hugged and carried his coach to the grins of everybody watching. :))

And of course, the traditional parade of gold medalist.

Decathlon Awarding Ceremonies.
Gold Medalist: Clay Brian of USA

I really think he's the hottest sportsman ever!
Well, next to Greg Louganis and Ian Thorpe. ;)

And this is where I sat tonight.

Not sure what 'scalping' of tickets means, but these give an idea of just how many are visiting the games.
