Unexpected Wanderings

I wasn't really expecting this.  My wandering star has wandered me on a two week work trip to Uruguay. If someone had said Uruguay would one of your ports of call in 2016 at the start of the year, I would have been surprised but excited. Last year was a bit of a disaster so anything...even something this random...would have been happily accepted. You know that saying; "if someone had have told me I'd be...(insert random event here)...I wouldn't have believed them"?? Well I hate that statement. The correct ending to that statement should be "that's awesome, let's go". We remember these random, crazy, wild events for the simple fact that they ARE random crazy and wild.

And so I'm camped in the hotel bar at the Beach in Montevideo, avoiding the hour or two of work I need to complete. World Cup Football qualifiers are on the TVs around th bar. Uruguay are playing Venezuela in one to with about 3 viewers, Paraguay are playing Columbia in the other with far more viewers. I guess that makes sense in an international hotel.

Photo opportunities will present themselves periodically but I was hankering to put a little South America in the lens. So it was out here hotel window we went today, just to keep the juices flowing. The "Ramblas" outside is wide and long and rises as it departs along the coastline of Montevideo. It was dark and my window of opportunity was slim...Uruguay just scored and one of the now four viewers got a touch excited. Good for him though...So I too 15minutes to get a few shots and try a few things. I could immediately feel the endorphins start to rise.

If you love something you have to take every opportunity to let it play a big part in your life. I love to travel and my job right now is giving me ample opportunity. I love to take photos, I'd like to get better at it so I need to get every bit of practice in that I can. Unexpected wanderings are a blessing. Never miss the chance to do the things that make you happy. They may be fleeting but fleeting may just do the job.
