Self portrait

I have suffered from a depression for a while, and from September it got much worse. I got a sick leave from my doctor just before Christmas. I'm probably going to start work again in March.
It's hard to have an illness that nobody can see. If I had a broken leg, I probably got more sympathy
Today I went to my first session with a psychologist, pretty nervous, and didn't know what to expect. I had to give her the “story of my life” etc. I also said that I lost interest in many things that I used to love to do, including photography. She gave me “homework” for next session, and that was to dust of my camera, get out an take pictures every day. I will try this. I will probably post some of the images here, but I don't feel like commenting on other entries just yet. I have enough with myself for the time being

I would appreciate if you included me in your prayers, because I need all the help I can get

I took this picture last weekend. Something I just wanted to try to do for weeks now, but never had the energy. So here you have it.

You probably cant tell that this person suffer from an illness

Ole, I'm sorry that I've not been on PB for a long time and didn't know that you were having difficulty. I often get the "blues" and feel as if I need to withdraw from the things I love. But, there is always a brighter side just around the corner, so please hold on! God promised us: "Do not be afraid or discouraged, but be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you. I will not fail nor forsake you!" And I'm praying' those precious words for you, my friend!

You did the best thing you could do....you sought help! Prayer does work....I'm living proof of that....
You are right about your portrait....It's great!
There is a sadness behind those eyes....have you ever noticed how many clowns have sad faces and everybody loves clowns...
I'll be praying for you my friend....

Take many pictures, walk a lot, but with your head well up, not looking to the ground, feel the wind, smell the air, listen the sounds of nature, eat well, see many feelgood movies, meditate, and finally try to find a place where you can practice Yoga. Good luck and fight always.

It's a very courageous thing to talk about depression in a "virtual" community. I hope it helps in the healing process. As an atheist, intercessory prayer is not an option, but my best wishes go with you in your recovery.

I did a lot of volunteer work with 12-step programs and try to apply some of their life models. One I find particularly useful is "one day at a time".

Great image, by the way.
