Streetwalkin' Monday

In case you haven't been following our blogs, my friend Queen911 [photoblog.com] and I have started packing our lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays. Then we take turns driving each other to a surprise destination where we walk the streets, take photos and eat lunch. We post our favorite 7 pics of the day plus vantage point (where we sat to eat lunch and take most pics).

I still haven't learned to check my battery before we go off on a photo adventure so I didn't have many pics to choose from in order to get my quota today. (Duh! And to believe I have always told my children repeatedly to “plan ahead”). So I really didn't have a fav 7 or a vantage point! I only took about 10 photos before the camera died. 8-(

The corner of 2nd and Gaines where we were streetwalking today.

A lady found one of the benches a nice place to read and eat lunch.
We took our pictures and ate our lunch on a bench opposite to hers.
My battery died before I got a picture of this nice little brick circle with 4 benches.

Used to be the Standard Hotel - or Whoretel as we called it when in high school.

I love this building. I'd like to have a round area with windows in my house. I'd hang lace curtains there.
I also liked the guy sweeping up in front and the other guy just watching.

Boarded up windows and doors; rickety railings.

We need to live nearer to each other...the "whoretel" shows me your sense of humor is twisted enough so that we'd keep pace with each other. Love the b/w of the building--nicely done even with your dead battery. Were you a Girl Scout? If you were, were you asked to leave? :0)

I like the picture of the German Heritage Centre with the brick contrasting against the colour of the windows.

Very nice. Again we saw different things. It's like opening a present when I see your blog. Never know what I'm going to get.
