Mostly when you think of Dubai, you think of skyscrapers, sheiks and desert. But the secret of it all is that a lot of it is build using labour from India and the philipines.
I tried to find that side also and visited one of the original cargo freighters in the old harbour, talking to people, taking snaps and trying to get onboard a ship to see the hardworking guys there.
As always when I'm with people from India I cause a lot of commotion, and as they really did not have anything to do this time was no exception.
I try to stay calm and ahead of everything, so I asked them to do normal work and they found something they nedded to do, so I could take some pictures of the work.
I was using my good old Leica M9 and a Summilux 35mm, which is the one camera/one lens I would bring to a deserted island.
