Pieris brassicae aka Large White

I’ve found the caterpillar [photoblog.com] on some plants on my house and then I saw it was very very slowly for an usual caterpillar, as it was winter, I deduce that it was about to make a cocoon. Then I had the idea of keeping it safe, so I avoid potential kills (and also could give me the opportunity to see how long it delayed for it hatch).
So seems that it delayed about 5 months to hatch :))

if you can see, near the caterpillar it is already making some white things to transform itself in a cocoon :)

Ricky, o cientista!! Embora o "filhote" tem as asas ainda um pouco amachucadas, vai com certeza poder voar. Linda experiência.
