Melitaea athalia aka Heath Fritillary

Remember yesterday's Caterpillar [photoblog.com]? well I saved it and it made the cocoon (actually they were 2 caterpillars), and today they both hatched.
here are the pictures of my beloved Heath Fritillaries and I left them in the area I've found them.
With Surprise I've found the same specie mating.
What a small world.

Really fantastic Ricky. The cocoon is extraordinary.

When you really take a good long look at butterflies, they are amazing. They look like miniature stained glass.
