We snuck out for a picnic on Saturday. I say snuck out because I know they don't want us to travel, but we are now only going within a tank of gas and not stopping at stores or to interact with people and taking the stealthy back route.
We found during our drive on the previous weekend that there are a few campgrounds open in an area that shall remain nameless with almost no people visiting it. The facility it is associated with is closed, but the campsites are currently open, and beyond a sign that states the facility is closed which appears to be discouraging most folks from venturing there. The shots above and below are on our drive not to far from our home of Walla Walla.
The drive included such highlights as the shed below which appears to have been social distancing for quite some time and may not be in the best of health.
Once we reached the river we went to a campsite that we had found the previous weekend that consisted of a picnic table on the river, a fire ring, and its own bathroom clearly awaiting the lucky ticket holder. We arrived to a nice pile of firewood because that is the way my life with Shelly works and made a small fire and cooked up some burgers. After lunch we played some frisbee, and wandered the beach looking at and collecting all the pretty rocks with Bentley the dog. This is a couple shots from the river and a herd of deer we encountered.
We did discover a campground that was even further than we had gone the previous weekend (by a couple miles) and it too had almost nobody camping, but looked like it held some nice private campsites to social distance in. Another stealth outdoor attack may be imminent.
