The weekend so far

Did a 7 mile hike on the Lostine River of the Wallowa Mountains yesterday, and a hike through Bennington Lake today. We hiked the Lostine until we started running out of trail due to snow at 6300 ft. (1920 m.). We jumped in the river and swam, it is so clear and green. I love Shelly. She knows it is probably water in the 30s, but she was totally down for it. Bennington Lake is just five minutes from here and lies in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It has a wonderful collection of native vegetation around a small reservoir with a number of nice trails and gets a lot of wildlife. The shot from there is a non-native plant, but it is obviously supporting some happy bees and butterflies.
